The most educated, friendly, informative store I've ever been to. Deaton has been amazing working with both my kids to get set up with thier very first praying mantis pets. Daeton and Dylan have been so patient and kind with our learning curve with our new pets. 10 out of 10 recommend.

I went in and did not end up purchasing an animal, but I still had an amazing experience. I just started my journey to find the right pet for me, and this visit gave me so much clarity and confidence. Dae Dae was genuinely one of the most helpful and friendly people I have interacted with in a pet store. From the moment I walked in, he made me feel welcomed and comfortable, and he took his time to understand what I was looking for. He shared so many helpful tips, explained proper care in a clear way, and broke down the differences between the animals I was considering. His knowledge is impressive and he was able to answer every single question I had with confidence and detail. What really stood out was how patient and honest he was. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. He focused on making sure I had the right information, even if that meant I chose not to make a purchase that day. That level of integrity is rare and truly appreciated. Even though I left without taking an animal home, I walked out feeling grateful for the visit and much more informed. When I do decide on the right pet, I will one hundred percent be going back to Dae Dae and Predator and Prey Exotics to make my purchase of my new little buddy. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for both the animals and the customers make the whole experience exceptional. I cannot recommend him enough.

love this place. i come in a couple times a week for feeders for my leopard geckos and jumping spiders and Dylan and Daeton are always friendly and helpful. they recognize me now and ask how my critters are doing. the store has a pretty small footprint but it’s arranged well; my boyfriend’s power wheelchair can get through the door and around most of the shop. all the animals in the store are kept in excellent conditions by very knowledgeable and attentive staff, and when you walk in there’s this beautiful smell of soil and growing plants. there is also Cleo, the free-roaming shop tortoise. i always make sure to say hello if she’s out and about. we just bought our first snake there and could not be happier with the whole process. thank you P&P!

This is a great locally owned exotic pet store, whom I highly recommend. I get substrate, frozen rodents, lightbulbs, and decor from them with relative frequency (plus they have some of the most affordable/ fairly priced cork bark and rocks in town). They are always very friendly and easy to work with, making the customer service interactions a breeze. On top of the excellent selection of pet care products, the pets themselves seem to have a much higher quality of life than other pet stores. To me it makes sense to give them a 5/5 star rating (my ball python certainly appreciate their service too)!

1 of the best reptile and spider stores in alb. They are well knowledgeable and nice. Been going there since they opened and nothing but quality and beautiful exotic pets. Will continue to shop there in the future.

Predator and Prey is hands down the BEST exotic pet store in Albuquerque! From how knowledgeable the staff is to the care they put into the animals. All my exotics have been purchased there and I couldn’t be happier! They always have a wide selection of different creatures to admire, even if you are not looking to purchase. Dylan and Daeton are always so helpful every time I stop in, you can tell they are truly passionate about the animals and want to spread that passion. Not only are the animals in their care top notch, so are their feeders! I will not go anywhere else for my exotic pet needs!
